Trikes with pedal-assist are a great way to ride farther and more comfortably. Lots of people love their existing trikes but wish there was an option for upgrading to electric. The good news is that thanks to upgrade kits from HP Velotechnik, Electric Bike Outfitters, and Gride Solutions, most recumbent riders can have non-electric trikes converted to pedal-assist. With electric you don’t have to worry about keeping up with your friends that like to ride faster and you get the ability to ride longer distances and explore new areas that would have been out of reach without electric.

It started like this.
After the conversion, it looks like this. Notice that the front gears have been removed and replaced with the Gride Solutions Drive Unit, and the battery is mounted on the frame below the seat. We think this looks almost like it came from the factory this way. Really a nice solution for converting to electric.
